Who we are

Skopeia is an independent service producing personalized PhD fit reports for neuroscience and biomedical sciences applicants. You can reach us at support@skopeia.com.

What information we collect

When you purchase a Skopeia report, we collect the following information through our intake form:

• Full name and email address
• Academic background: degree type, target start year, GPA, current institution
• Research background: PI name, lab duration, techniques, model systems, publication status, research description
• Application preferences: target subfields, programs you are considering, funding interests
• Citizenship and residency status (used for funding eligibility analysis)

We also collect payment information through Stripe. We do not store your credit card number — Stripe handles all payment processing.

How we use your information

• To generate your personalized fit report
• To deliver your report by email
• To respond to support requests
• To maintain records for tax and accounting purposes

We do not sell your information. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Skopeia. Each service receives only the data necessary for their function:

• Stripe — processes your payment. Your card details are handled by Stripe directly.
• Resend — delivers your report by email.
• Supabase — stores your order data securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted in the United States.
• Vercel — hosts the Skopeia website.

Data retention

We retain your order data for a minimum of seven years for tax and accounting purposes, as required by law. Report content and intake form responses are kept for the same period. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us — we will delete what we are not legally required to retain.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data (subject to retention obligations)
• Withdraw consent for data processing

Cookies and analytics

Skopeia does not currently use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. If this changes, we will update this policy and notify customers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify customers by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
